The NGO Young Africa (YA) works holistically with underprivileged youngsters between 15 and 25 years, started as a local Zimbabwean organisation and sets up empowerment projects that can be replicated. The legal owner of the projects is Young Africa.

Young Africa is a Charitable Trust in Zimbabwe. It is an independent non-governmental organisation. In just eight years, Young Africa has grown into a shining example of what a development organisation can achieve by empowering young people and their community with their own resources.

The mission of Young Africa is the empowerment of underprivileged young people. Young Africa empowers young people by educating them in a holistic way and encouraging them to build up a decent living for themselves and the society around them. Young Africa teaches young people - Skills of hands, to make them self-reliant, skills of heart and mind to live with dignity and responsibility and skills of the soul to live with purpose.

Zimbabwe Lawyers For Human Rights [zlhr], Harare, Zimbabwe, West Africa

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) is a not for profit human rights organization whose core objective is to foster a culture of human rights in Zimbabwe as well as encourage the growth and strengthening of human rights at all levels of Zimbabwean society through observance of the rule of law.

ZLHR is committed to upholding respect for the rule of law and the unimpeded administration of justice, free and fair elections, the free flow of information and the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms in Zimbabwe and the surrounding region. It keeps these values central to its programming activities.

ZLHR holds observer status with the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR), provides secretarial services to the Human Rights Committee of the SADC Lawyers Association and has affiliate status with the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ).

Zimbabwe Women's Resource Centre And Network [zwrcn], Harare, Zimbabwe, West Africa

The Zimbabwe Women’s Resource Centre and Network (ZWRCN) is a women’s information organisation with a focus on collection, analysis, processing and dissemination of information on gender and development.

The organisation’s strategic interventions aim to empower women, strengthen inter-organisational networking of gender and development agencies and promote the women’s movement in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Election Support Network [zesn], Harare, Zimbabwe, West Africa

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) formed in 2000 is a coalition of 36 non-governmental organisations formed to co-ordinate activities pertaining to elections.

The major focus of the Network is to promote democratic processes in general and free and fair elections in particular.

It was also established to standardise the NGOs election related activities and methodology as well as to ensure wider geographical coverage and co-ordination of activities.

The broad aim of the Network was therefore to enhance the election process in Zimbabwe in order to promote democracy and good governance in general as well as free and fair elections in particular whilst adhering to internationally acceptable standards.
